Byrd opens the scoring with solo shot to left
Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Marlon Byrd has been suspended for violating Major League Baseballs policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to multiple reports Wednesday.
Its the second failed test for Byrd, now with the Cleveland Indians, and will result in a 162-game suspension. He will not appeal, reported Ken Rosenthal, of Fox Sports.
Byrd, 38, played 96 games for the Reds in 2015. He was hitting .270 in 34 games with the Indians. He debuted with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2002.
