Neither Odell Beckham Jr. nor Jason Pierre-Paul attended Wednesdays voluntary OTA at the Giants training facility, but head coach Ben McAdoo said both of the stars told him they would be absent and that they would be back later this week.
Theyve reached out and communicated and thats what we ask, McAdoo said. These are voluntary practices and when they cant be here we just ask that they communicate that. The guys who missed today have been outstanding in attendance otherwise.
Asked if he expects both back for the two remaining OTAs this week, McAdoo said: Absolutely.
Voluntary or not, anticipated or not, McAdoo made it clear he would like to see everyone at these workouts. Last week, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie missed the opening OTA practice.
I dont think theres anything positive when someone cant be here, he said. Wed like to have everyone here.
Beckham has been spotted in the gossip pages more this week than on the practice field. There are reports of him getting cozy with Khloe Kardashian at a Memorial Day party hosted by the singer Drake over the weekend.
McAdoo had little to say about that potentially distracting relationship, although he made it clear he is available to counsel Beckham or anyone else who may want some guidance.
Theyre grown men, McAdoo said. You have to trust players with their personal lives and the decisions they make. If they ask for advice, well certainly be willing to lend a hand.

Khloe Kardashian is reportedly dating Odell Beckham Jr and the pair were spotted together at a recent bash at Drake"s house.
The 31-year-old reality TV star was spotted looking cosy with the 23-year-old NFL player at Drake"s Memorial Day party on Monday at his Hidden Hills mansion.
A source told TMZ that they were "definitely into each other" and "looked like a couple".
Odell, who plays for the New York Giants, previously revealed he has been living with Drake during his off-season from football.
He said: "That"s my guy right there. Somebody whose mindset is the same as yours, and they want nothing but success, they want to be the best. We just click on a level like that."
And before Khloe, he was linked to Zendaya, who joked he was "auditioning" to date her after attending a Grammy party with her and her father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman.
When asked if they were dating, she replied: "He"s auditioning".
She added: "It wasn"t really a date. We went to some events together, because we"re friends. We were with a group; we were with multiple people."
"But here"s the thing: Even if it does progress, you gotta go through my dad first. Just because you"re in the NFL, you killin" stuff, that doesn"t mean you get to skip past pops. He"s not going to allow that to happen."
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that police were called to Drake"s Memorial Day party after a fight broke out.

There were a number of noise complaints about rapper"s bash between 9pm and 10.30pm and video footage shows a group of women brawling.
TMZ reports that busloads of women were seen arriving at the Hidden Hills mansion and the party "got extremely rowdy as the day went on and several girl fights erupted".
Paramedics were also spotted at the scene but no injuries have been reported.

Although the reclusive reality TV star"s family were initially reported to be furious when he started dating Blac - who had been locked in a long-running feud with his sister Kylie Jenner - the former model insists that things between them all are perfect.
Rob and Blac got engaged after just a few months of dating and announced Blac"s pregnancy in April but she insists that they are in no rush to wed.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "We"re taking things slow. Everyone"s happy! Things with Rob"s family are fantastic."
Blac, 28, already has a three-year-old son King Cairo, whose father is Tyga, the ex-boyfriend of Rob"s sister Kylie, 18 and it was previously claimed that the Kardashians were concerned that Rob, 29, would "shut them out" if they didn"t try and accept his wife-to-be.
A source said: "The family in general still feels Rob"s relationship with Chyna is very rushed. They were hoping that Chyna would be more like a rebound. Someone who was able to help Rob, but that he then would move on. They never expected an engagement and a baby.

"Rob has made it clear though that this is what he wants. He seems very happy. The family knows that they need to be on his side, or he will shut them out. They are really playing by Rob"s rules now."
The relationship between Rob and Blac was said to be particularly "difficult" for his mother Kris Jenner but it is good "from a business aspect" as it will make fantastic viewing on their E! reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians".
The insider added: "Kris has had a difficult time with the whole situation. It"s definitely been frustrating for her. But the baby will be welcomed. Just like with Kris" other grandkids, Rob"s baby will be loved and spoiled.
