Pat Summit might not be coaching on the sidelines anymore, but her impact on the women"s game is felt as strongly as ever.
The legendary Tennessee Vols head coach, who amassed eight national titles and 1,098 wins during her 38-year reign in Knoxville, turned 64 years old today.
In honor of her birthday, members of the basketball community took to Twitter to share their well-wishes and acknowledge her awesomeness:
Summitt once said, "You can"t always control what happens, but you can control how you handle it." A line that serves to properly sum up her coaching outlook and the depth of her character.
Despite being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer"s in 2011, Summitt continues to lead an inspiring life and seeks to spread awareness and find a cure for the crippling disease.
Happy birthday to a living legend!
