Wearing ridiculously large eyeglasses, Kovitzky explains that the subject in the painting was the artist"s daughter. But that"s not the painting in question. Kovitzky smuggled two Da Silva paintings into the country for a client but Detective Muncie intercepted. Kovitzky wants Ray "to speak" with Muncie on her behalf. Ray tells her he doesn"t bribe cops.
