The new, mini NES Classic Edition includes games not on Wii U Virtual Console

NEW Nintendo NES Classic Edition System?!

Nintendos re-releasing its very first console, the Nintendo Entertainment System, in pint-sized form. The NES Classic Edition hits retail Nov. 11 for $59.99, packing in 30 retro favorites some of which arent currently available on Wii U, Nintendos most current system.

Wii U Virtual Console NES games typically cost $4.99 each. If you were to buy all the games included in the NES Classic Edition, it would cost you almost $150, so the NES Classic Edition could save you up to $89.71.

Weve got a rundown of the NES games you can replay on your HD television exclusively with the help of the adorable Classic Edition; none of them are currently sold on Wii U Virtual Console. Some of these may be offered on Wii or Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, however; well note that if so. While Wii Virtual Console games can be bought on Wii U, they"re typically slower, less crisp and only accessible through the system"s Wii menu.

  • Bubble Bobble (available on Wii)
  • Double Dragon 2: The Revenge (available on Wii and 3DS)
  • Final Fantasy (available on Wii)
  • Ice Climber (available on Wii and 3DS)
  • Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream (available on Wii and 3DS)
  • Tecmo Bowl (available on Wii and 3DS)

The Nintendo eShop updates weekly, meaning many of these games may come to Wii U Virtual Console before the NES Classic Edition"s November launch. For now, though, the tiny console sounds like a good deal.

Clarification: These games aren"t currently available on the Wii U Virtual Console stateside, but may be sold on that of other regions.
