BERLIN - German police say one person has been killed and another 11 injured in an explosion at a cafe in the Bavarian city of Ansbach. Police told the dpa news agency early Monday that it wasn"t clear what caused the late Sunday night blast in the city near Nuermberg. Ansbach police could not immediately be reached for comment but Germany"s top-selling Bild newspaper said it was believed to have been a gas explosion. Dpa reports that an open-air concert nearby with some 2,500 in attendance was shut down as a precaution after the explosion. Germany is on edge after a deadly rampage at a Munich mall on Friday in which nine people were killed and an ax attack on a train near Wuerzburg last Monday in which five people were wounded.

Star Trek Discovery | official trailer (2017) SDCC NCC-1031
Star Trek is returning to the small screen.
Side-by-side with the Hollywood movies, CBS is launching a brand new series of the classic show, and Comic-Con has offered us a first full look at what"s been planned.
At the 50th anniversary panel for the show in Hall H, moderator Bryan Fuller - best known as the man behind Hannibal - took the opportunity to reveal a few choice tidbits on his upcoming Star Trek TV series.
The biggest reveal was the show"s title, Star Trek: Discovery, which also pointed to a major change for the show; a brand new ship, the USS Discovery.
It"s the ship seen leaving an asteroid hanger in the brand new teaser, which reveals its design to be an interesting mix of the traditional Federation starship and elements of a Klingon Bird of Prey; though what this may mean in terms of ship"s crew is still entirely up for debate.
"Its not going to be episodic," Fuller also revealed at the panel. "Were going to be telling stories like a novel." It"s a bold move away from previous iterations, in which singular episodes were largely self-contained in their stories; but the move makes sense, considering drama television has largely moved towards telling singular narratives over the course of a series.
Star Trek Beyond Featurette - The IMAX Experience
"The new series has to remind audiences the message of Star Trek continuing to push boundaries. We do have to celebrate a progression of our species because right now we need a little help," Fuller continued; while confirming the series will take place in the "prime" timeline of the television shows, as opposed to J.J. Abrams" cinematic universe.
Star Trek: Discovery will debut on the CBS network before moving to its All Access streaming service. Netflix has, however, signed a deal to secure international rights to the show.

CHICAGO (AP) A traumatic start at Valentina Shevchenko"s training camp didn"t deter her from pulling off another shocking upset in the UFC women"s bantamweight division.
Shevchenko, from Kyrgyzstan, stunned Holly Holm on Saturday night at UFC Chicago, unanimously outpointing the former UFC champion.
Less than two months ago, Shevchenko was at a chicken restaurant in Lima, Peru, when it was raided by armed robbers. Her trainer, Pavel Fedotov, was shot in the abdomen during the robbery. He has recovered and was in Shevchenko"s corner Saturday.
Fedotov pushed Shevchenko to continue to train for the fight.
"It was a very different camp than I had to endure in all my life," Shevchenko said. "After two days when he (Pavel) was in the hospital he said, you should take this fight and prepare. It doesn"t matter what happened."
Fighting for the first fight since losing the belt to Miesha Tate at UFC 196, Holm had losing scores of 49-46 from all of the judges.
Her stunning knockout of then-champ Ronda Rousey in Australia at UFC 193 catapulted Holm (10-2) into the spotlight of mixed martial arts, but she followed with the back-to-back losses.
"I know I"m capable of more. I think I just need to believe in myself a little more. Like I said, I know I can do more. I didn"t perform well tonight. Valentina is really tough, we know that," said Holm. "It"s not like I haven"t been taught the right things, it all comes down to my performance, it wasn"t great tonight."
Shevchenko (13-2) put herself in the mix to contend for the women"s bantamweight title at 135 pounds that is held by Amanda Nunes, who she lost to in March at UFC 196.
Holm knocked Shevchenko to the mat with a quick hook early in the first round as Shevchenko quickly got back to her feet. Shevchenko had a takedown late in the round.
In the third round, after Shevchenko got in a few jabs, Shevchenko caught Holm"s leg on a kick attempt and took her down. Shevchenko had another takedown and kept Holm on the mat for the rest of the round as she landed punches.
"I"ve never in my career, whether it be boxing or MMA ever felt like that I"m at the top because I always know there is somebody else aspiring to be the best," Holm said. "Just as I first came into MMA, I want to have titles in both. I had drive in me. I still do so I never look at a division and think I made it to the top and I"m just going to stay there. There is always somebody hungry."
Shevchenko may get another shot at Nunes, who dismantled Tate for the belt at UFC 200.
Nunes in a tweet insinuated that Shevchenko is not ready for a rematch.
"She is definitely scared. I"m ready for five rounds with her, I will take whoever is next, but I think she is scared," responded Shevchenko.
In the co-main event, Edson Barboza won in a unanimous decision over Gilbert Melendez in a lightweight fight.
Barboza (18-4) began to take control late in the second round. Melendez attempted a kick, but Barboza caught Melendez"s leg and took him down. Barboza had Melendez (22-6) pinned to ground as he landed a series of punches, but Melendez was saved by the bell.
Barboza scored with the judges on a number of kicks to Melendez"s left knee in the third round as the judges scored the fight 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 in favor of Barboza.
Barboza backed up his last win against former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis
Melendez, who hasn"t fought since June 13, 2015, losing a split decision to now-champ Eddie Alvarez, has lost his last three fights.

SHOCK NEWS: Obama Brother Malik Muslim Brotherhood Connections and Syrian War
A month after President Obama appointed tech mogul Ranvir Trehan a trustee of the prestigious Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Trehan wrote a $100,000 check to benefit Obamas presidential library.
The March-dated donation from the Trehan Foundation, based at the philanthropists sprawling home in Virginia, followed the White Houses February announcement that Trehan would take a seat on the Kennedy Centers board beside such bigwigs as retired Boeing chairman W. James McNerney Jr. and Greys Anatomy and Scandal producer Shonda Rhimes.
But Trehans foundation made a mistake. It sent the check to the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a small Virginia charity named after Obamas father that is run by Obamas Kenyan half-brother, Malik.
The foundation raising money for the Obama library in Chicago is the Barack Obama Foundation.
Malik Obama told The Post he returned the check to the Trehan Foundation. Nobody thanked me, he added.
Ranvir Trehan, Chairman of the Trehan Foundation
Trehan, 75, who immigrated to the United States from India in 1964, told The Post his assistant made the mistake.
I did write a check to the Obama Foundation because somebody mentioned to me that there was a foundation for his library or something, he said.
Trehan said he had long been active with the Kennedy Center but did not know how he came to be appointed to its board.
He said when the White House called him last winter to tell him about the plum gig, he was thrilled and asked whom he should thank.
We dont share that with you. You should just remember that the president has nominated you for this, he said the White House told him.
Asked if the $100,000 was a thank-you to Obama, he said, Its a reflection of my belief in what he stands for.
Its a thank-you in my mind, he added.
He insisted the White House did not solicit the donation.
Check received by Malik Obama address to the wrong Obama Foundation.
Oddly, after his check was returned, Trehan decided not to give the money. He said he preferred to wait until plans for the library were more developed.
Like many members of the Kennedy Center board, Trehan is a big Democratic donor. He gave $33,100 to Obamas campaigns and has also contributed $121,600 to the Democratic National Committee.
He founded the SETA Corp., an information technology services company in McLean, Va., in 1987. In 2005, Apptis Holdings bought the company, which had $86 million in annual revenue at the time. Trehan was Apptis vice chairman until 2011.
He is one of 36 presidential appointees on the Kennedy Center board.
