Gotta See It: Penguins celebrate after winning Stanley Cup
The Pittsburgh Penguins, despite a dominant performance in Game 5, couldnt clinch the Stanley Cup on home ice.
It had been more than 50 years since a major Pittsburgh sports franchise won a championship at home. The Penguins had their chance, but Martin Jones stood in their way. The anticipation had been growing and growing, as a second big screen TV had been added to accommodate excited Pittsburgh fans for that game. Heck, the city of Pittsburgh even re-named a street for one day at least after goalie Matt Murray.
While they couldnt win it all at home, the Penguins went back to San Jose and lifted the Cup following a Game 6 victory over the Sharks.
Thousands of miles back east, fans in Pittsburgh celebrated the teams second Stanley Cup in eight years. More than 16,000 fans packed the CONSOL Energy Center to witness the victory.
The noise this crowd is making is indescribable. #Pens

LOS ANGELESThough Electronic Arts officially dropped out of the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year, its press conference presentation at the EA Play event felt a lot like a standard E3 presentation.
The event started off with new footage from Titanfall 2, which now comes with the single-player focused campaign its predecessor lacked (including a talking Titan voiced by Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen). The new game features six new giant walking titans, a "deep progression system," and a grappling hook that can be used to launch yourself right into a Titan cockpit or grab an enemy out of the sky. The game is available on October 28.
Battlefield 1
We also got more information about Battlefield 1, the previously announced military history shooter set in an alternate history version of World War I. EA promised that "destruction is more intuitive and natural than ever" in the game, and it highlighted the ability to take control of "behemoth" vehicles like air ships, armored trains, and entire battleships. A dynamic weather system withrain, fog, and blinding sunlight will also feature prominently.
Electronic Arts continues to make the most of its recently acquired Star Wars license, announcing three new upcoming titles from its biggest studios. There weren"t too many details, but what was announced can be had in this report.
An alien from Mass Effect Andromeda.
Speaking of space-based games, we got a few more hints about Bioware"s Mass Effect Andromeda, which was recently pushed back to an early 2017 release. A new "behind the scenes look" at the game provided brief glimpses of gameplay and scenery, but it was largely indistinguishable from previous games in the series. EA did promise "new planets, new species, and new technologies" in a galaxy where "you are the alien," as well as "more freedom then we"ve ever given players in a Mass Effect game." More details were promised for the fall.
Fe
It wasn"t all big-budget blockbusters. EA announces a new, indie-focused "Originals" initiative that would help small developers with things like marketing and funding while letting those developers keep the bulk of profits for themselves. The first game shown off as part of the program was Fe, an intriguing open world where you control a small cub looking to survive in a virtual forest, using "stealth and cunning" to outsmart "the silent ones." The game"s striking, minimalist visual style made it stand out in a presentation full of attempts at hyper-realism.
And, as always, there were updates to EA"s usual sports titles. FIFA now features a number of English Premier League managers, as well as a new story-heavy "Journey" mode that follows a single player working his way up the ranks of pro soccer (more on that in our full report). And newly named Chief Competitive Officer Peter Moore was on hand to stress a three-tiered e-sports structure for Madden, from "Challenger" events for any members of the community and "Major" events for top pro players.

Joe On Donald Trump: What Century Is He From? | Morning Joe | MSNBC
MSNBC host Joy Ann Reid reacts to the Orlando gay nightclub massacre on Sunday"s Meet the Press, calling the "core issue" not "international terror," but "how easy it is to get a gun."
"We have mass casualty shootings that are affecting children, teachers, people in church," Reid said. "Whether it"s a hate crime or whether it"s related to something -- to international terrorism, we"re not getting to the core issue, which is how easy it is to get a gun."
Reid did acknowledge that there happens to be law-abiding gun owners, "but we are not talking about that issue."
"Florida happens to have the largest gun-owning population in the country and some of the most lax laws as to how you can get your hands on even an assault rifle," Reid said. "So if you mean to do harm, you know, we are talking about a state with 1.4 million, law abiding, obviously, gun owners, but we are not talking about that issue."
"Right now the only debate that is taking place in the state of Florida is the Supreme Court weighing whether to allow complete open carry so that people can actually visibly show firearms on the streets of Florida. So we"re having a debate that is so disconnected from the real fears, the fears of people like me, who are afraid to have their kids out in the world not just because of criminals, but also because of a deranged person," Reid said.
"Regular people don"t think of the way that we"re talking about it. Regular people see violence. They see dead people in Orlando and it could have been anybody that they knew," moderator Chuck Todd commented.
Colombia vs Costa Rica 2-3 All Goals & Highlights 12/06/2016
Colombia coach Jose Pekerman might regret his extensive changes as a 3-2 loss to Costa Rica cost his side top spot in Group A.
Colombia coach Jose Pekerman might be wondering if 10 changes was a few too many after his team went down 3-2 against Costa Rica in their final Copa America Centenario group game.
Pekerman and Co. looked to be in control of the group after seeing off the United States and Paraguay ahead of their final group game against Costa Rica, but their complacency was punished as they finished behind the hosts in disappointing circumstances, setting up a potential quarterfinal clash with Brazil in the process.
Celso Borges and Johan Venegas were in fine form as the eliminated Costa Ricans finished their tournament in style.
Venegas scored after just two minutes when he was picked out brilliantly by Borges before dispatching a 20-yard curler that left Colombia goalkeeper Robinson Zapata clutching at thin air, before fullback Frank Fabra produced a moment of individual brilliance to level the scoring with a fine solo goal.
Fabra went from hero to villain when he turned a Venegas cross into his own net with 10 minutes to play in the first half, before Borges added another with a tidy goal after 58 minutes, although a Marlos Moreno effort made for a nervous finish.
With qualification already secured, Pekerman rested his stars as he made 10 changes to the starting lineup that beat Paraguay with midfielder Sebastian Perez the only player remaining, but he came to rue such extensive changes.
Costa Rica, having already been eliminated following the United States" 1-0 win over the Paraguayans earlier on Saturday, had Arsenal"s Joel Campbell named among the substitutes with Sporting CP"s Bryan Ruiz chosen to lead the line.
Venegas opened the scoring with a superb strike from 20 yards after brilliantly bringing down a cross-field pass from Borges, beating the offside trap and bearing down on goal.
His progress was hindered by the Colombia defense, which forced Venegas to put his foot on the ball and turn out, but that did not stop him from scoring as he knocked the ball a yard ahead of him and dispatched a brilliant finish from distance that found the far top corner.
However, their advantage did not last long as Fabra embarked on a mazy run starting on the left wing and finishing with a trail of Costa Rica defenders in his wake before slotting the ball under Patrick Pemberton.
He followed the sublime with the calamitous when his disastrous own goal put Costa Rica back into the lead when he bundled Venegas" cross into his own net at the far post.
Pekerman turned to James Rodriguez at halftime as he hoped to wrestle back control of the game and avoid a defeat that could yet see them facing off against Brazil in the quarterfinals.
But his gamble did not pay off as Borges made it 3-1 just before the hour-mark when he finished off a lovely overlapping run and cross from substitute Bryan Oviedo.
Substitute Juan Cuadrado set up Moreno for Colombia"s second as they chased a crucial equalizer but they could not find it as Pekerman was left to rue his selection.
