Microsoft is working on a TeamViewer competitor for Windows 10

Microsoft is working on a new Windows 10 app which will allow users to remotely control other users PC. The app, which the company is calling Quick Assist will essentially be Microsofts own version of TeamViewer. As it seems like, Microsoft is making Quick Assist to be more of a support tool which will allow a user to remotely control and provide assistance.

Microsoft Quick Assist enables two people to share a computer over a remote connection so that one person can help solve problems on the other persons computer.

This feature has been available on Windows for a while now. In previous versions of Windows, it is known as the Windows Remote Assistancewhich basically allowed users to do the same thing as Quick Assist. With Windows 10, Microsoft is just re-designing it to give it a modern look.

Quick Assist works pretty similar to TeamViewer: when you want to request assistance, youll need a code from the user you are requesting support from. And when you want to provide assistance, you will get a code which youll need to share with the other user. The app also includes features such as sketching, and it will be a pretty sweet feature for Surface users. However, the app is currently missing important features such as the ability to transfer files between two PCs, which Microsoft will hopefully add in the future.

As for the actual remote controlling feature, Microsoft seems to have nailed it. In our own testing, remote controlling a PC using Quick Assist was pretty smooth.

As you may notice in some of the screenshots above, the app does not seem to be ready for the public just yet. The app is actually available in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14352 however, it wont show up in the All Apps list. To use the app, youll just need to open Cortana and search for quick assist and it should show up in the search results.

Quick Assist is definitelya really nice feature which a lot of Windows 10 users should love. If you are not an Insider, you should be able to try out Quick Assist with Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which is coming later this summer as a free upgrade to existing Windows 10 users.

Kylie uploaded a photo showing her spending some quality time at the pool with her gal pals.

The teen, who has recently split from rapper boyfriend Tyga, was keen to keep the boys at bay, she captioned the photo "girls, girls, girls."

Neither Odell Beckham Jr. nor Jason Pierre-Paul attended Wednesdays voluntary OTA at the Giants training facility, but head coach Ben McAdoo said both of the stars told him they would be absent and that they would be back later this week.

Theyve reached out and communicated and thats what we ask, McAdoo said. These are voluntary practices and when they cant be here we just ask that they communicate that. The guys who missed today have been outstanding in attendance otherwise.

Asked if he expects both back for the two remaining OTAs this week, McAdoo said: Absolutely.

Voluntary or not, anticipated or not, McAdoo made it clear he would like to see everyone at these workouts. Last week, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie missed the opening OTA practice.

I dont think theres anything positive when someone cant be here, he said. Wed like to have everyone here.

Beckham has been spotted in the gossip pages more this week than on the practice field. There are reports of him getting cozy with Khloe Kardashian at a Memorial Day party hosted by the singer Drake over the weekend.

McAdoo had little to say about that potentially distracting relationship, although he made it clear he is available to counsel Beckham or anyone else who may want some guidance.

Theyre grown men, McAdoo said. You have to trust players with their personal lives and the decisions they make. If they ask for advice, well certainly be willing to lend a hand.

Stephen Hawking Admits He Can"t Understand "Demagogue" Trump"s Popularity

British astrophysicist Stephen Hawking has helped to unlock some of the deepest mysteries of the universe, but admits that he cant understand how a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator is leading the Republican party going into the U.S. general election.

Speaking in an interview Monday morning, Hawking expressed his bafflement that Donald Trump was as popular as he is.

The AP reports:

Hawking also appealed to British voters to vote to keep the United Kingdom inside the European Union in a June 23 referendum. He said remaining within the EU provided essential support for British scientific research as well as its economy and security.

He said: Gone are the days we could stand on our own against the world. We need to be part of a larger group of nations, both for our security and our trade.

If a Pregnant Woman Gets Zika, What"s the Risk of Microcephaly for the Baby?

Zika is beyond a doubt scariest for pregnant women, or for women trying to get pregnant. For women living in areas where the mosquito-borne virus is spreading, who are trying to make the huge decision of whether, and when, to have a child, theres not a lot to go on. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that women whove gotten Zika should wait at least eight weeks to conceive, and that men whove gotten it should wait at least six months.

But the vast majority of people who are infected with Zika dont show any symptoms, and children can still be born with birth defects and mothers can still miscarry, even if they never had symptoms. So its possible that microcephalya birth defect caused by Zika that leads to smaller-than-average head size and other developmental problemscould sneak up on parents who never knew one of them had Zika in the first place.

Margaret Chan, the director of the World Health Organization, summed up the harsh reality of the situation in her recent address to the 69th World Health Assembly: To protect women of childbearing age, all we can offer is advice. Avoid mosquito bites. Delay pregnancy. Do not travel to areas with ongoing transmission.

If a woman is infected in her first trimester, there is between a 1 and 13 percent chance of her fetus developing microcephaly.

This is not the most reassuring advice. But a new paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine estimates how likely it is that the fetus of a woman infected with Zika would develop microcephaly, offering would-be parents at least some idea of the risk theyd be taking on.

Analyzing current outbreak data from the Brazilian state of Bahia, researchers from the CDC calculated that if a woman is infected in her first trimester, there is between a 1 and 13 percent chance of her fetus developing microcephaly.
