Pittsburgh Pirates beat Colorado Rockies after Ryan Vogelsong scare

Ryan Vogelsong 2015 Highlights

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Pirates didn"t feel like celebrating this victory, not at all. One of their teammates is down, and they"re not sure when he"ll be back.

The Pirates beat the Colorado Rockies 6-3 Monday, but starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong was taken off the field on a cart, holding a towel on his bloodied face, after being hit in the face by a fastball in the second inning.

The 38-year-old Vogelsong was taken to nearby Allegheny General Hospital with what the team said was a left eye injury. He was to be kept overnight, and the Pirates said there probably wouldn"t be an update until Tuesday.

"They"re still evaluating what"s going on," said pitcher Gerrit Cole, one of Vogelsong"s closest friends on the team. "It"s particularly difficult to see anyone in that situation. It"s unfortunate. He was throwing the ball well and was excited to pitch today."

Vogelsong, who rejoined the Pirates this season after last pitching for them 10 years ago, was making only his second start.

Opposing pitcher Jordan Lyles still look unnerved several hours after hitting Vogelsong on the left side of his face with a 92-mph two-seam fastball on an 0-2 count.

"It"s tough to see. I hope he"s able to get back to his teammates shortly," Lyles said. "It was 0-2, and it kind of ran in a little bit -- and it ran in too much."

Lyles looked down toward the plate from the mound and saw something no pitcher wants to see.

"He was bleeding a little bit," Lyles said. "It"s tough. It"s tough, especially (Vogelsong being) the other pitcher. You just wish (him) the best."

After that scary moment, the Pirates stayed composed enough to pull out a win in which Josh Harrison drove in two runs with a pair of singles and Rockies first baseman Mark Reynolds" two-base throwing error scored two more runs during Pittsburgh"s four-run third.

Right-hander Wilfredo Boscan, getting his first major league win in only his second major-league game, replaced Vogelsong and limited the Rockies to Charlie Blackmon"s two-run double in the fifth over four innings. Boscan also added an RBI single in his first career at-bat during the Pirates" big inning.

"I"m very happy, this is a dream come true to come to big leagues and get my first win," Boscan said through his catcher-interpreter Francisco Cervelli. "I understood I needed to go a couple of extra innings and I was ready for that."

The Pirates won for the ninth time in 10 games against the Rockies in a makeup of a Sunday rainout in which the two teams unsuccessfully waited nearly four hours to play.

Pirates relievers Boscan, Neftali Feliz, Tony Watson, Jared Hughes and Mark Melancon combined for seven innings, with Melancon getting the final two outs for his 15th save despite yielding DJ LeMahieu"s sacrifice fly.

Pittsburgh quickly jumped on Lyles, who gave up four earned runs and five hits and walked three in his fifth ineffective start this season. He rejoined the team from the minors only on Friday.

Lyles" wildness and inability to hold runners on base hurt him in the second, when the Pirates scored twice on Harrison"s RBI single, a Lyles wild pitch, stolen bases by Harrison and Starling Marte and the hit-by-pitch of Vogelsong that came with the bases loaded.

"He lost some command, got in bad counts, (made) some walks ," manager Walt Weiss said. "The command wasn"t real sharp as the game went along."

The Pirates chased Lyles in the third following singles by Andrew McCutchen and Gregory Polanco, another stolen base -- by Polanco -- a walk, another Harrison RBI single, and Reynolds" throwing error as he tried to get McCutchen at the plate on Francisco Cervelli"s grounder. Both McCutchen and Polanco scored on the play. Boscan also contributed his RBI single.

"I told myself if that first pitch is down the middle, I"m going to take a swing at it," he said.

Left-hander Chris Rusin replaced Lyles and pitched two-hit ball over 4 2/3 shutout innings, but the Rockies still lost their fourth in five games overall and their 12th in their last 13 against Pittsburgh.

Home plate umpire Jeff Nelson also left the game after apparently getting debris in his left eye during a play at the plate in the third inning. The three remaining umpires finished the game.

NOTES: Pirates SS Jordy Mercer and 3B Jung Ho Kang each got a second successive day off -- neither was in the lineup for Sunday"s rained-out game. Manager Clint Hurdle said the plan was to give them two days off in a row, and that didn"t change with the rainout. ... Pirates RHP Juan Nicasio will make his next start on schedule, Hurdle said, rather than being pushed up despite pitching only one inning Sunday. However, Rockies RHP Chad Bettis will move up and start Wednesday at Boston. RHP Jon Gray moves back to Thursday against the Red Sox, and RHP Eddie Butler starts Friday at home against San Francisco. ... Rockies manager Walt Weiss was back Monday after returning to Denver on Sunday for son Bo"s graduation from Regis Jesuit High School -- a road trip within a road trip for Weiss. ... Rockies RHP Tyler Chatwood (0.53) and the Cubs" Jake Arrieta (0.97) are the only major league starters with road ERAs under 1.00. ... The official paid attendance was 34,529, but there didn"t appear to be more than 5,000 in the PNC Park stands for the unscheduled makeup game.

Torrent site The Pirate Bay loses thepiratebay.se and piratebay.se domain names

The Pirate Bay documentaire français

The Pirate Bay is no stranger to court cases, and the site has just lost another one in Sweden. A Swedish court has ruled that the torrent site"s thepiratebay.se and piratebay.se domain names must be handed over to the state.

The two domains have been confiscated after a judge at the Court of Appeal decided that they were being used to (gasp!) commit crimes under the Copyright Act.

It is unlikely that the ruling will have much effect on The Pirate Bay"s operations as it already has numerous other domain names to fall back on. But there is no denying that this latest legal battle will be seen as something of a blow, even if it is only a symbolic one.

The Swedish Court of Appeal upheld a previous decision by the District Court that said The Pirate Bay should be made to forfeit the two domain names. Prosecutors had been seeking the deregistration of thepiratebay.se and piratebay.se by domain name authorities, but it was decided that this was beyond their remit, so the domains were simply handed over to the state instead.

The "Good Morning America" meteorologist tells ABC News that she continued to rehearse last week after suffering a lower back spasm. She says she later saw a physical therapist who told her that her "pelvis was just moving all over." She says her pelvis is loose and unstable because she had a baby in December. Pirate Bay termed as deceptive site by Google Chrome, blocked by Firefox and Safari as well

Why The Pirate Bay Is So Hard To Kill

Users of torrent site Pirate Bay are reporting that popular internet browsers Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari are blocking the site. A malware warning seems to be appearing when users try to access the site similar to the one that appeared for Kickass Torrents last month as well as in October 2015.

While Google Chrome seems to be giving a deceptive warning for the site due to the new Google Safe Browsing policy, Firefox users are being told: "This web page at thepiratebay.se has been reported as a web forgery and has been blocked based on your security preferences." Some Safari users are also reporting the same phenomenon.

More from IBTimes UK

Generally, a warning like this would appear when an ad network is compromised and malicious ads start popping up. A diagnostic report (at the the time of reporting) on the problem reads: "Thepiratebay.se contains deceptive content. Don"t panic. Users sometimes post bad content on websites that are normally safe. Safe Browsing will update the safety status once the web-master has cleaned up the bad content."

Google started the Safe Browsing service a couple of months ago restricting multiple ad sites to protect users from visiting malicious websites that contain malware. Generally, malvertising attempts use dubious JavaScript redirection tricks to scam users into clicking on pop-up links or ads that seem harmless but may lead to malicious sites.

Torrent sites are a major ground for malware injectors and it may be possible that the number of malicious ads may have been too high leading to such a problem. The Pirate Bay has yet not clarified its stand on the subject or given any reason for the problem.

Update: An update seems to have been made by Pirate Bay to fix the issues as now it seems the site has been cleared safe by Google. The Google transparency page however, shows that there were some safety issues as we have already reported.

Celine Dion "appointed husband"s $70million estate" hours after emotional Billboard speech

CELINE DION Billboard Music Awards 2016 Icon Award.

The 48-year-old is clearly still suffering from her recent heartbreak as she broke down on stage at last night"s Billboard Music Awards after being honoured with an Icon Award.

And, today it has emerged that Cline has been put in charge of distributing her latespouse"s assets, as laid out in his will.

According to TMZ, two children from Ren"s first marriage will each inherit a house in Canada.

While the sale of two other properties - an estate in Florida worth $45million and a castle in Quebec listed at $25million - is expected to turn an estimated $9million profit and will be put into a trust fund for his and Cline"s children.

The couple are parent to 15-year-old Ren Charles and five-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, who currently live with their mother.

Additionally, the My Heart Will Go On singer will reportedly be handed other properties, on top of all of her husband"s furniture, clothing, cars, jewellery, and personal assets.

Most of the money is believed to be going into a trust which typically provides support for a surviving spouse and any children left after bereavement.

The probate documents, which were filed in Nevada, demanded Cline declare she was not a felon in order to be named an administrator.

In March, the Canadian musician lowered the asking price of the Florida property by $30million after initially listing it for $75.5million.

Boasting 5.5 acres of land, the 10,000 sq ft abode has five bedrooms, but the grounds are home to two four-bedroom guest houses, a golf range and a tennis court.

Ren lost his battle with cancer at the beginning of the year, leaving a huge legacy behind him as he was a music producer, talent manager and singer.

In a recent interview with People magazine, his widower said she"s at "peace" now.

"I really, really want to prove to my kids their mother is strong. Ren always insisted the show much go on," Cline said.

"I miss him a lot from when he was great but not when he was suffering. I cannot be selfish. You have to let people go. I feel at peace.

"We were living in hope, knowing that there"s no hope. I"m not the type of person who"s going to say, "I know he"s going to make it"," she added.

Express.co.uk has contacted Cline"s representative for comment.
