Lady Gaga is engaged to Taylor Kinney: Star reveals HUGE heart-shaped ...

It looks as if congratulations are in order as Lady Gaga is getting married to her boyfriend Taylor Kinney, after the actor popped the question on Valentine's Day.

The couple enjoyed a romantic weekend, with a special dinner at Gaga's family restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, in New York where they celebrated after the Chicago Fire actor proposed, Us Weekly reports.

Gaga couldn't have looked happier as she stepped out in the Big Apple today, but she didn't flash her engagement ring.

Instead, the star kept that hand firmly covered.

In a huge purple fur coat, the Bad Romance star kept any sign of a ring concealed. But she later took to Instagram to reveal her whopping heart-shaped diamond ring on Instagram, along with the caption: "He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!"

Lady Gaga and Kinney first met in 2011 on the set of Gaga's music video, You & I, which they shot in Nebraska. In the shoot, Gaga was actually wearing a wedding gown for their raunchy shoot - and it was her mother's!

Just a few months later, the couple were an official item, with rumours of a short split back in May 2012.

Gaga recently admitted that she knew that Taylor was "the one" in an interview with Howard Stern.

"He is the right guy," she said. "How do we know? It's this feeling..."

She also joked about her wedding day, as she told the shock jock: "If I get married, I'll be hanging out in a pickup truck at a David's Bridal while my stylist is screaming at me."

Despite the distance between the couple when Gaga's on the road, and Taylor is working on set, the couple have made it work.

Last year, Taylor revealed why he loves her so much, as it was rumoured that he was shopping for an engagement ring last year.

"[She] is someone whos always in your corner, that believes in you and your work, and vice versa," the actor said.

"You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself."

Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus, Paul Simon Captivate at 'SNL 40'

Music played a big part ofSNL's 40th anniversary festivities Sunday night, starting with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake openingsong-and-dance number, which channeled years of famous catchphrases and characters. Kanye West also performed a medley of tunes "Jesus Walks," "Only One" and "Wolves," while Martin Short and Maya Rudolph (as Beyonc) helmed a tribute to SNL'sbest musical-comedy moments, including Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyeras Marty and Bobby Culp, andBill Murray as lounge singer, Nick Ocean.

Paul McCartney followed-up his impromptu duet with Paul Simon of the Beatles' "I've Just Seen a Face" with a bombastic, bleeding-heart rendition of "Maybe I'm Amazed" during Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special. While the performance itself was appropriately celebratory and thunderous, a hat mustbe tipped to Keith Richards' sly introduction: "In the early Sixties a band came out of England and it changed the world But enough about the Rolling Stones: Ladies and gentlemen, Paul McCartney."

Miley Cyrus continued the festivities by paying tribute to Simon with an impressive renditionof"50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." Slinking through the verses, Cyrus took the chance to break out her booming, diva vocals during the song's soulful and stomping chorus all of which was anchored by Fred Armisen's indispensable auxiliary percussion.

Simon returned to to the Studio 8H stage to close out SNL's 40th Anniversary special, though first he made sure the musicians of theSaturday Night Live band got the standing ovation they deserved. Backed by Lenny Pickett and Co., Simon fittingly performed a dulcet rendition of "Still Crazy After All These Years," accentuated by a blazing saxophone solo from Pickett.

Chocolate Shops Recover From Valentine's Day Rush

Many chocolate shops get cleared out on Valentine's Day as so many people enjoy giving the traditional gift to their loved ones. But what happens when there's not enough chocolate? Or at the end of the rush, there's too much left over? Emily Lorsch spoke with one local chocolate store owner who tells us how she prepares for and gets through the holiday.

Valentine's Day may be over, but the hard work that goes into the chocolate-crazed day is fresh in the minds of chocolate shop workers. 'Somethin' Sweet Gourmet' Owner Elizabeth Bachura said she had all hands on deck, and stocked up on normal in house chocolates.

"Because that's really what everyone is coming for. They're not coming for the novelty as much as much as they're coming for our regular favorites that we always have on hand,"Bachura said.

Although they do make heart-shaped items special for the holiday, employee Kim Crocker said most customers prefer more personalized sweets for their sweeties."They're not just getting something that someone else can get. It's something unique, it's something specialized, it's something just for them."

They say preparing for Valentine's Day can be very difficult. "It's a total guessing game, every year is different," added Bachura.

But Bachura said even though they're in the dark about how much chocolate they'll need, since they make 90-percent of their chocolates in house, they have a quick and easy solution. "We never know. We just will try and get as much done but then if someone comes in and we're out of it, we'll quickly make it for them."

Working at the 'Somethin' Sweet Gourmet' chocolate shop the week of Valentine's Day is a unique experience, according to Crocker. "It's great seeing people happy. It's great to make someone happy."

And that's how she decided to spend her Valentine's Day. "Even my husband who I was supposed to be spending time with as a Valentine came here with me to spend time here giving to other people so it was really great. We enjoyed it actually more than going out to dinner or spending time just him and I," Crocker added. It brightened her day to help people arrange gifts for others. "We had a woman that came in and she was buying something for her 72-year-old grandmother to give to her boyfriend."

Although both women loved sweeteningValentine's Day, after working 14 hour shifts all week, they were happy to finally get a break and sleep in on Sunday. It was a quick breather before they start preparing for Saint Patrick's Day and Easter.

Bachura said any leftover heart-shaped items either get discounted after Valentine's Day or re-purposed for future sales.

Not just the cricket: India vs Pakistan match also saw audiences judge the TV ads

Piyush Pandey, Chairman of Ogilvy India and South Asia, has often said that Indian TV audiences, unlike audiences elsewhere in the world, actually wait for ad breaks so that they can see the ads and be entertained by them.

In another era, they saw the ads, liked them, were unmoved by them or hated them and these opinions would be shared with friends and family.

That era is dead. In a world of social media, ads get discussed and judgments on the ads are passed in real time.

Watching the feedback on social media could be exhilarating or downright cruel.

Yesterday, as the Indian and Pakistani teams were fighting for a win and for bragging rights, TV audiences dissected each and every TV commercial that was broadcast.

They watched, they judged and they updated their statuses.

Ogilvy and Piyush Pandey make the cut. Their film for Fevikwik gets almost universally positive reviews.

In a nutshell, this was the judgment:

If Ogilvy and Pidilite (manufacturers of Fevikwik) have reasons to smile, Dettol clearly does not.

The worst comment, perhaps, is this one:

It wasnt Dettol alone that took a beating. Thankfully, Dettol had company.

What were people saying about Lays?

How bad was the ad? This comment says it in less than 140 characters:

This is the new world, where the Cannes Jury matters little. At awards shows such as Cannes, you either win or you do not. You do not get panned. And, of course, these awards shows come once a year.

Welcome to the new world, where, every second, theres a judgment being made about your ad by someone who is watching it.

Welcome to the new chairman of the jury the consumer.

World Cup, India vs Pakistan Live: Pakistan collapse in middle overs

Feb 15, 2015

  • 15:35(IST)

    Over 27: Pakistan 119/5 (Misbah 12, Afridi 11)

Afridi is not going to hang around. Rocks back and pulls Jadeja into the crowd over midwicket. The thing is even a rapid fire 50 from Afridi isnt going to be enough. He needs to be there until the end. Four singles make it 10 from the over.

  • 15:34(IST)

    Over 26: Pakistan 109/5 (Misbah 10, Afridi 3)

Umesh greets Afridi with sharp bouncer that forces the batsman to take quick evasive action. The rest of the over consists of one dot ball and four singles.

The required run-rate is now 8 and over. If Pakistan had all 10 wickets in hand, would be an extended T20 game. But they do not.

  • 15:30(IST)

  • 15:29(IST)

    Over 25: Pakistan 105/5 (Misbah 8, Afridi 1)

OUT! Dhoni confidently calls for a review when Jadeja goes past Akmals forward defense. Snicko shows nothing but the slow motion replay suggests there may have been a faint nick. The commentators expect the decision to remain not out but surprisingly, without Snicko, the third umpire overturns the decision.

    Umar Akmal c Dhoni b Jadeja 0 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 105 for 5 and this game is over unless Afridi goes beserk and emulates AB de Villiers.

  • 15:22(IST)

Umar Akmal is the new batsman. Can Misbah hold this chase together?

  • 15:22(IST)

  • 15:20(IST)

OUT! Umesh has two in the over. Sohaib Maqsood flashes at awide one outside off and Raina takes a sharp overhead catch at slip. Pakistan not looking like breaking their World Cup duck against India in this game.

    Sohaib Maqsood c Raina b Yadav 0 (2b 0x4 0x6)

Just like that Pakistan are 102 for 4 and Umesh has two wickets with poor deliveries.

  • 15:18(IST)

OUT! Umesh has the breakthrough. Or rather Jadeja has the breakthrough. Short and wide and Shehzad absolutely creams a square cut but hits it straight to Jadeja at point, who juggles the ball before holding on at this second attempt. That was hit hard but Jadeja kept his head when he batted the ball up on the first attempt.

    Ahmed Shehzad c Jadeja b Yadav 47 (73b 5x4 0x6)

Pakistan 102 for 3 after 23.2 overs and the set batsman is gone.

  • 15:13(IST)

    Over 22: Pakistan 98/1 (Shehzad 46, Misbah 3)

Umesh is back. And back successfully. Misbah takes a single from the first ball but five dots follow. Shehzad enough has an unsuccessful slash at a slower ball outside off that beat him for bounce. The final delivery is smashed down the ground and Umesh does brilliantly to stop it. Exhales with relief as he takes his cap from the umpire.

Shehzad batting himself back into a hole. Dhonis field placings have made it very difficult for him to pierce the field and takes ones and twos.

Adelaide: The India-Pakistan rivalry goes way beyond the boundaries of the cricket field, with the geopolitical overtones transcending the World Cup.

Regardless of any diplomatic posturing, the packed stadium and a television audience expected to be in the hundreds of millions, the only thing that really matters to India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his first match as defending World Cup champion and to veteran Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is the competition points.

Pool B gets under way with a match at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday that many players and supporters of both countries consider just as important as the final.

India has won all five of the previous head-to-head World Cup matches since 1992, when Pakistan rebounded to go on and win the title.

Dhoni, despite a team that hasn't won a competitive match in two months in Australia, is confident of extending the streak against Pakistan to 6-0. Misbah believes he has the team to break the drought. Both expect the Adelaide match to set the tone for the tournament.

"Starting with Pakistan ... it will be a high-voltage game," Dhoni said. "It's one of the most prized games when it comes to the ODI format.

"It's a perfect scenario to start, and the guys, they've got enough experience in the conditions, so I think it will be a good one."

The 40-year-old Misbah has only played at one World Cup, scoring a half-century in the semifinal loss to India in 2011 and averaging almost 50 in his eight innings. He doesn't think his team carries any scars from previous Cup defeats.

"Obviously India-Pakistan is always all about pressure," said Misbah, who has won seven of the 16 limited-overs internationals he has played against India. "The best thing we can do is just enjoy the game, enjoy the atmosphere, go there, play your game, be positive."

Taking advantage of the so-called "cricket diplomacy" opportunities this week, India announced it was sending its top foreign ministry official to Pakistan to resume talks after a six-month hiatus.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted Friday he spoke with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif and offered to further strengthen ties. Sharif welcomed a proposed visit by a senior Indian official "to discuss all issues of common interest."

Misbah said the secret to success would be to ignore all the fuss on and off the field.

"I think it is the way to go that you just don't take anything into the ground when you are playing against India," he said. "You don't have to worry about what's happening outside, what's going on in the countries. I think you need to focus (entirely) on your game."

India greats Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have spoken about the importance of the game and its elevated status at the World Cup.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq described it as being "like a final before the final, not only for fans but also for both teams," adding that India was under pressure to maintain its record against Pakistan and Misbah was under pressure to change history.

He suggested the outcome could come down to the toss of a coin, noting that India had won the toss in four of the previous five World Cup encounters.

"I can't find a suitable word to describe what goes wrong when we chase against India, but it's more like a mental blockage of players on which I'm sure Pakistan team management will be working on," he said.

Neither team enters in winning form. While India's winless run in Australia has been well documented, Pakistan lost a recent ODI series in New Zealand.

Both teams have also struggled with injuries, with India losing paceman Ishant Sharma and Pakistan without Mohammad Hafeez and Junaid Khan due to injuries.

Pakistan opener Ahmed Shezhad hurt his right arm during a practice session on Friday, but he was cleared of serious injury.

Dhoni said India had no injuries to report and was confident of turning around their form in Australia, simply because they're now familiar with the conditions.

"It's not really about stats. As far as the preparation in the dressing room is concerned, it looks just fantastic," he said. "And all to the fact that when we play Pakistan there's definitely more intensity on the field. It will be a perfect scenario for everyone to raise their level of performance."

Lost ring returned 'just in time for Valentine's Day'

John and Karen Johnson on Friday thank Butch, a 3-year-old boxer that found Johns lost wedding ring at Wilmingtons Canby Park.(Photo: DANIEL SATO/THE NEWS JOURNAL)

Friday the 13th was lucky for John and Karen Johnson of Wilmington.

"And just in time for Valentine's Day," said Kenneth W. Boulden Jr., New Castle County clerk of the peace, who typically spends the designated romance day performing weddings.

The Johnsons' luck focused on the husband's gold wedding band, on his hand since they said "I do," nearly 20 years ago. Toward the end of last month, however, he noticed the ring was gone.

He figured it fell into a crack in the couch. "I tore the house apart," said his wife, who deep-cleaned for an exhaustive search.

No ring.

Meanwhile, a little more than a week ago, Tom Parvis of Wilmington was walking a friend's dog at Canby Park in the city. "I had surgery on my neck that day," owner Richard Shick said, "so he walked Butch for me."

"It was ... pretty miserable," Parvis recalled Friday. "Cold and windy like today." He was ready to leave, but the boxer kept snuffling the ground.

"I'm saying, 'Git on, it's cold, let's go,' " he said, "but Butch didn't budge. I looked down and said, 'What have you got there, buddy?' and there's a gold ring." It was inscribed, "Love to John, from Karen 12-2-95."

"I put a notice in the paper, but nobody picked up on it," he said. "So I called the Bureau of Vital Statistics down in Dover and they said, 'We don't keep track of that kind of information,' so they suggested I call Ken Boulden."

When Parvis called the Marriage Bureau, he talked to legal assistant Dan Cole, who said no one there could recall such an inquiry. "He just called us up and said, 'I found a gold band with two names and a date," Cole said.

Cole got the next clue courtesy of Tom Coviello, the longtime chief deputy clerk of the peace who retired at the end of last year. He created WebMarriage, a cutting-edge data system accessing Delaware marriage facts as far back as 1900.

As Cole searched WebMarriage for the names and date in the ring, he said, "there were actually two 'John & Karens' married that day."

The database has only couples' addresses at marriage, he said, so he checked property records. "One was somewhere in northern New Castle County and one lives a mile from Canby Park, where the ring was found. So I figured, that had to be them." He also learned the Johnsons are in their 40s, so a 1995 wedding fit.

To confirm, he went to visit.

Karen answered the door and was stunned when Cole asked if they lost a ring.

"I was really happy," she said.

John had left minutes earlier to walk their dogs Mugsy, an American bulldog, and Franklin, a rescued pit bull at Canby Park, where the ring had slipped off his left pinky.

Years ago, they explained, his hands outgrew the band, so they had a silver one made for his ring finger. His pinky fit the irreplaceable original, hand-made in England, engraved outside with an intricate pattern.

To celebrate its return, Boulden said, "I offered to renew their vows."

So a meet-up was set, which was easy because, by coincidence, Butch and his owner live three blocks from the Johnsons on Maple Street and the dog-men knew each other from the park.

"Our dogs can't play together because they're all male," Shick said, "but as soon as I heard the address, I knew, 'That's Mugsy and Franklin.' "

The Johnsons, Parvis, Shick and Butch met Friday on the Johnsons' porch, joined by Cole and Chief Deputy Clerk of the Peace Gregory Gross all reflecting on the only-in-Delaware nature of the ring's return.

Shick and Johnson told the others of shared experiences at the park, finding a stray dog there about a year ago and having their dogs skunk-sprayed a week apart.

They shared a good laugh after Jarvis said the ring was found along a walkway near a bench by the entrance and Johnson suddenly recalled stopping there when Mugsy and Franklin opted to take a squat. "That may have been what Butch was smelling," he said, chuckling as the others laughed.

"Butch is the hero of the day," his wife added with a smile, moments before slipping the ring back where it belonged. "I'm happy to have it back," her husband said.

They opted to wait to renew their vows until their 20th anniversary celebration, to be attended by two daughters and eight grandchildren, Karen said.

Boulden, who will officiate the vows, didn't go Friday so Cole could represent their office at the happy occasion he made happen.

The ring's return began with a hero dog and good Samaritan who sought its owner instead of hocking it, Boulden said. Then there was the personal effort of a county employee who used the brilliant data system another county employee created, along with his wits to find the owners, then visited after work. "That's all pretty amazing to me," Boulden said.

As he talked Thursday night to Karen Johnson, Boulden said, she cried saying she was praying to Saint Anthony to "please, please find that ring" just before Cole knocked and asked, "Did you lose a ring?"

"I tell my staff over and over again, 'We're not in the marriage business, we're in the people business,' " he said. "They get it, Dan gets it, and I couldn't be happier."

With the ring returned for Valentine's Day, he said, "it's absolutely perfect."

Cole, who insisted Butch and Jarvis are the heroes, said, "I was just glad that we were able to connect with them by Valentine's Day.... It would have been a shame for them to have had to celebrate Valentine's Day without the symbol of the love they were celebrating."

The couple plans a quiet Valentine's Day dinner at home with Mugsy, Franklin and their once-again matching rings.
