Mora and UCLA was probably the biggest surprise on National Signing Day, rivaling Auburn for the best finish down the stretch. But it wasnt enough to crack the Top 5 teams nationally.

1. Byron Cowart, DE, 6-3, 253, Seffner, Fla. (Armwood), signed with Auburn. Will Muschamps revenge. Auburns new defensive coordinator swiped the Under Armour All-American from his former team (Florida) and Southeastern Conference foe Alabama.

2. Josh Rosen, QB, 6-4, 207, Bellflower, Calif. (St. John Bosco), signed with UCLA. The long-time Bruins commit is arguably the gem of their class. Was overshadowed by Wednesdays late fireworks.

3. Iman Marshall, DB, 6-1, 194, Long Beach, Calf. (Poly), signed with USC. Marshall changed the game, announcing his decision via a music video on BleacherReport.com. Hes talented enough to back it up.

4. Martez Ivey, OT, 6-6, 290, Apopka, Fla. (Apopka), signed with Florida. Auburn was threatening to run away with Ivey, too, which would have been a nightmare scenario for the Gators. Ivey could slide in immediately at either tackle spot.

5. Derwin James, DB, 6-1, 199, Haines City, Fla. (Haines City), signed with Florida State. The Seminoles are losing DBs P.J. Williams and Ronald Darby to the NFL Draft, so James could see early playing time for the Noles.

TOP 5 CLASSES

1. Alabama: The Crimson Tide reloads again. Nick Saban and Co. signed 20 prospects rated four stars or higher by 247sports.com. Bamas seven early enrollees each ranked in the top 20 at their position nationally. The Tide hand-picked the best talent from around the nation, headlined by Top 5 players at the skill positions (RB Damien Harris, WR Calvin Ridley, QB Blake Barnett).

2. Florida State: The Seminoles lost a longtime QB commit (Kai Locksley) to Texas, but the overall strength of their class was so good it didnt affect their ranking. FSU got a steal in rangy DE Josh Sweat, who spent some time as the nations No. 1 prospect this fall before suffering a dislocated knee cap, and FSU landed multiple five-stars, including James and Sweat.

3. USC: With UCLA surging on Signing Day, the Trojans added two must-have in-state prospects in DT Rasheem Green and LB John Houston Jr. Add that to No. 1 RB Ronald Jones who was a longtime Oklahoma State commit and top-ranked DB Marshall, and the Trojans have taken back the West Coast. Due to NCAA-mandated scholarship reductions, USC wasnt able to sign more than 15 players in any class from 2012-2014. With the ban lifted, the Trojans are bringing in 24 commits.

Journalist Asks 'Fresh Off The Boat' Stars About Chopsticks

Chopsticks? Really?

The upcoming ABC series "Fresh of the Boat" is being billed as potentially groundbreaking moment for pop culture by focusing on an Asian-American family. But at a panel event during Wednesdays Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, the cast and creative team were asked about... chopsticks.

I wanted to ask the question: I love Asian culture. And I was just talking about chopsticks, and I just love all that," the unnamed reporter said, according to Deadline. "Will I get to see that, or will it be more Americanized?

"Its more about chopsticks, star chef/entrepreneur Eddie Huang replied sarcastically. Huang's memoir of the same title is the basis of the show.

Wait till Episode 5, its all about chopsticks, showrunner Nahnatchka Khan said, according to EW.

The next questioner tried to defuse the situation with a little humor.

Will we be seeing fortune cookies? the critic asked.

But it was too late. On Twitter, the reaction was swift:

Earlier this week, Huang wrote a piece for New York Magazine in which he expressed doubt in the ability of network television to be faithful to his story.

However, on Wednesday, he promised a show with some edge.

To deal with the word c***k in the pilot episode of a comedy on network television is borderline genius and insane at the same time, Huang said, according to The Wrap.

"Fresh Off The Boat" debuts on Feb. 4.

Bay Area Rapper 'The Jacka' Killed In East Oakland Shooting

OAKLAND (CBS SF) A well-known Bay Area rapper was killed in a shooting in East Oakland Monday night.

37-year-old Dominic Newton, who went by the stage name The Jacka, was shot by an unidentified gunman alongMacArthur Boulevard by 94th Avenue at about 8:14 p.m. Monday.

Oakland Police said officers were in the area at the time when they heard gunshots.Patrol units arrived and found a man later identified as Newtonsuffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Pittsburg residentbegan his rap career in the late 1990s as a member of Mob Figaz, before launching a solo career in 2001.

The Jacka has collaborated with a number ofBay Area hip-hop starssuch asE-40andMistah F.A.B. His latest album,What Happened To The World, was released just two months ago.

Fans took to Twitter to express their disbelief and grief.

Bay Area singer Goapele tweeted her condolences.

On Tuesday, his fans paid tribute to him with a memorial near where he was killed.

At one of your concerts I attended you came off the stage and showed everyone in the crowd love. You were one of the few who didnt forget where you came from. Last night when The Jacka died a part of me died as well.

A lot of people debating the name of this artist. For the record, he got his name from hip hop. when he got on the mic as a feature they would say he jacked (stole for those who dont know what jack means) the show. He would steal the show every time he performed, and therefore became the jack artist.

Charlotte McKinney Is "Dating Around," n***d Carl's Jr. Model Is "Having Fun ...

Is Carl's Jr.'s new blond bombshell Charlotte McKinney looking for a serious boyfriend?

Downtime for McKinney means a lot of reality television. She admits she's a "fan" of the Real Housewives franchise. "I am," she said with a laugh. "I'm ashamed to say it, but I am. I love it. It's stupid, but it entertains me."

On the more serious front, McKinney enjoys Homeland and Sons of Anarchy and she recently saw the movie American Sniper, which she praised as "really great."

As for music, McKinney said she listens to "everything, from rap to country to electronic to dance."

"I really like Drake, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Kalifa," she said.

McKinney said her family has no problem with her stripping down for the Carl's Jr. ad. While she was wearing a bra and underwear during the shoot, the spot makes it appear as if McKinney is walking n***d through a farmer's market with strategically placed fruits and vegetables covering her naughty bits.

"My parents loved it," she said. "They thought it was great."

Why Measles Is the Most Contagious Virus

Measles is back, and its been tearing through the country from California to 13 other states. Already, the number of cases has broken 100. But how is it spreading so fast, and why is it so contagious?

Roberto Cattaneo, PhD, is the scientist credited with figuring that out. A professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the Mayo Clinic, hes been studying the measles virus for 30 years. Its the most transmissible virus we know, he says. Measles, it turns out, has a special way of invading that makes it really, really easy to get out of the hostand into other people.

Measles is a respiratory virus, in the same category as influenza. These kinds of viruses get into the lungs and replicate on the linings, called epithelia. Once measles hits the lungs, it doesnt stay put to breed; instead, it hijacks an immune cell and gets a ride into the immune system, Cattaneo says. It replicates there, and then it comes out in a very diabolic fashion. Instead of emerging from the body with a starting point deep inside the lungs, it bursts out from the final few inches of your respiratory systemyour trachea, or windpipe. Which means the virus is in precisely the perfect location to be aerosolized when you cough.

The measles virus uses the trachea as a trampoline, Cattaneo says. A single cough or sneeze will hurtle the measles virus through the air in enormous viral quantities, while other respiratory viruses have to travel further to get out. Once out of the host, the measles virus can linger on a surface for two hours, the CDC says. And if one person has it, 90% of the people nearby who arent immune will also become infected.

That explains why its spreading so rapidly, and 92% of doctors now attribute the outbreak to parents not vaccinating their kids. It is just stupid, Cattaneo says. If too many individuals decide that they are above nature or above viruses, the viruses fight back.

In principle, its such a simple problem to solve, he says, and raising scientific awareness about how measles transmits will help give vaccination numbers a boost, he hopes.

When more and more people realize what measles virus does, then vaccination will go up again.

Manziel reportedly gave the middle finger to a group of hecklers, causing the unruly party-goers to toss drinks at the Heisman winner. Drink throwers were tossed from the club themselves, and after a trip back to the hotel for some clean clothes, Manziel and his crew partied on.

January 10, 2015: Loggainsand offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan separate from the Browns organization.

January 23, 2015: ESPNreleases a report covering the season that was with Johnny Manziel and theCleveland Browns. While some players offered support, others referred toManziel as a 100 percent joke

February 2, 2015: Reports surface that JohnnyManziel has entered rehab.

This is a sign that Manziel truly is aware of the issuessurrounding his lifestyle and has a desire to get that corrected. Manziel mayor may not have the athletic ability to succeed in the NFL, but the commonconsensus is that the biggest issue has been his maturity. After what should bea completely different offseason than the last, Manziel will return to workwith the Cleveland Browns once his rehab stint is complete.

Bay Area Rapper 'The Jacka' Killed In Oakland Shooting

OAKLAND (CBS SF) A Bay Area rapper was killed in a shooting in East Oakland Monday night.

KPIX 5 Reporter Christin Ayers confirmed that the shooting victim was 37-year-old Dominic Newton, a rapper who went by the stage name The Jacka.

Witnesses said they heard several shots fired around 8:15 p.m. on MacArthur Boulevard by 94th Avenue.

So far, no suspects have been identified.

According to AllMusic, The Jacka is originally from Pittsburg and began his rap career in the late 1990s as a member of Mob Figaz, before launching a solo career in 2001.

Fans took to Twitter to express their disbelief and grief.

Bay Area singer Goapele tweeted her condolences.
