Bolaospassed away at his home in Cancn, Mexico, according to the Spanish-language network. He had lived in the coastal city, in the state of Quintana Roo, while battling health issues in recent years.

The cause of his death was not immediately announced.

On social media in May, the beloved comedian spoke about his physical status. He said that although his condition was fragile, he was tranquil and happy with his family, CNN Mxico reported.

In 2009, Bolaos health deteriorated after he underwent surgery and developed respiratory problems. It was then that he moved to Cancn, so that he would not have to use the oxygen tank he needed in Mexico City.

Bolanos was renowned for his signature character on the long-running TV series El Chavo del Ocho (The Boy From Number Eight) in which he played a youngster living in a neighborhood of the Mexican capital.

The first episode of the series, which brought the actor international recognition, aired in June 1971.

The story of Chespirito is the story of Mexican television, a CNN Mxico reporter said.

Bolaos other well-known roles included El Chapuln Colorado (The Red Grasshopper), El Chanfle and Chompiras.

After the comedians death was announced Friday, fans took to social media in droves to express their sadness.

I profoundly lament the death of Sir Roberto Gmez Bolaos, Chespirito. My condolences to his family, Mexican President Enrique Pea Nieto said on Twitter. Mexico has lost an icon whose work transcended generations and borders.

Another admirer tweeted thatBolaos was our Robin Williams and a national folk hero in his native country.

My parents, I, and now my daughter grew watching his show, Marco Mendoza said.

A funeral Mass for the actor will be held Sunday morning at Aztec Stadium in Mexico City, Univision reported. The soccer venue has a seating capacity of 104,000.

CNN en Espaol contributed to this report.

Correction: An earlier version of this reportstated that Chespirito was a role played byBolaos. It was the actorsnickname. The article has been updated to reflect the change.

Fan Poll who is better Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham?

Slideshow: Who is better Gronk or Jimmy Graham?

This is a fan poll asking who is the better tight end Jimmy Graham or Rob Gronkowski. You can vote on Gronkowski or Graham without having to sign up for anything. Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski are considered the best tight ends in the NFL but who is better?

Jimmy Graham is big at 6ft 7 and 260 pounds but he is a more athletic finesse type of tight end than Rob Gronkowski is. Graham actually plays wide receiver a lot and his speed and jumping ability causes huge mismatches for the opponents of the Saints.

In 73 NFL Games Jimmy Graham has caught 366 passes for 4,533 yards and 50 receiving touchdowns. Graham is easily one of the best end zone targets in the NFL The questions is whether or not Jimmy Graham is better than Gronk?

Rob Gronkowski is big too at 6ft 5 and 265 pounds. Gronk has deceptive speed but is more of a plodder than an athlete like Jimmy Graham. Both Gronkowski and Graham have had problems staying healthy but are beasts when they play their A game.

In 61 NFL games Rob Gronkowski has 284 catches for 4,067 yards and 51 touchdown receptions. Gronk is more of a bull his way into the end zone guy rather than the leaper Jimmy Graham is. Who is better? Please vote here.

South champs: Wildcats edge rival Sun Devils to claim division title

TUCSON, Ariz. --The Scooby Wright and Rich Rodriguez mystery machine continues to roll.

Why not add mystical and magical in describing Arizona's improbable ride to 10-2 and a Pac-12 South championship, after the Wildcats defeated Arizona State 42-35 Friday in a sold-out Arizona Stadium for arguably the biggest win in school history?

No. 11 Arizona faces No. 2 Oregon next Friday in Santa Clara, Calif., for the Pac-12 title. Arizona handed the Ducks their only loss, 31-24, in Eugene in October.

"It's going to be exciting," said Rodriguez, who never has faced an opponent twice in a season. "It'll be a very tough task but our confidence (will be high) because we played them well the last two times."

Winning has become the new normal for Arizona under Rodriguez, who has won 26 games and lost 12 in three years.

"If I didn't think it could happen, I never would have (come) here," Rodriguez said. "I've been fortunate to be at successful programs (so) I thought we could win here and win big here. But we had to have some big things happen."

    Voila! They have.

And no bigger than everything falling exactly how it needed to Friday. Arizona needed a Stanford win over UCLA -- and got the upset. Meanwhile, the Wildcats had to find a way to get by ASU, a team that just three weeks ago was in the national championship picture.

"You gotta have a little luck, a little fortune," Rodriguez said. "When we beat Oregon last year it allowed Stanford to win the Pac-12 North. Coach (David) Shaw deserves a big shout-out for giving us an assist. We appreciate that."

Arizona also had huge assists from others. The Wildcats before last season completed a $72 million facility on the north end of their stadium, have a new winning attitude on the field and melded a host of players who found synergy.

The list is long but no different than who showed up on Friday in what turned into a back-and-forth matchup until the end.

Quarterback Anu Solomon, playing on a b*m ankle and listed as questionable all week, threw two touchdowns. His coach and teammates used words like "gutty" and "impressive" to describe the calm and composed quarterback.

"He's a great leader for being a young redshirt freshman," Rodriguez said.

There also was true freshman Nick Wilson, who rushed for 178 yards and a career-high three touchdowns.

Throw in the All-American effort of sophomore linebacker Wright, plus opportunistic safety Tra'Mayne Bondurant, and Arizona had the makings of something big.

"He's worked his way back into being the type of player we knew he could be," Rodriguez said of Bondurant, who had 11 tackles.

Rodriguez called Wright one of the best football players in the country. Wright finished with a game-high 13 tackles, including two sacks.

"Two-star Scooby rose to the occasion again," Rodriguez said of his lightly recruited star.

All was the rivalry game in a nutshell. It also was the season in review with gritty and gutty performances in what has turned into a high-wire act from a group of unheralded players.

"We don't talk about it because you lose your focus," Rodriguez said of a conference title.

He used the comparison of eating an elephant to winning the title, doing it "one bite at a time. That's what we are doing. We're eating it one bite at a time. We took a big chunk out of it today."

It's been a 10-course meal as Arizona has won 10 games for the first time since 1998 when it went 12-1 and finished No. 4 in the country.

"People outside of us should be amazed," said senior Jourdan Grandon, who had a fourth-quarter interception. "But we knew what we (were) going to do before the season. We knew we had a great offense. We knew our defense was filled with seniors. We knew we had a shot to make a run at things."

That was Greg Byrne's hope when he hired Rodriguez a year removed from the coach's dismissal at Michigan. Byrne had a vision. And Rodriguez had a business-like, get-it-done approach.

"The reason why this is happening is because (the players) bought in from Day One what coach Rodriguez and the staff brought to the table," Byrne said. "The hard work that everybody has done, especially what the coaches have done over the last three years to put us in this position, is remarkable. I couldn't be prouder."

Rodriguez earned a $200,000 bonus for reaching the conference title game and a $150,000 bonus for winning 10 games.

He said he didn't know the first was coming, via the UCLA loss, until shortly after the game. When he heard, he was able to "bounce even further in the air."

Senior Mickey Baucus said he heard UCLA was trailing Stanford with about five minutes left in the game through a "little birdie."

That's when he got real nervous because the Wildcats and their defense still were dealing with ASU's attack, which pushed to the very end. But Arizona exorcised the demons -- err, Sun Devils -- after losing to its rival the previous two years.

    Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

"You don't know how many times I've thought about this week," Rodriguez said. "You try not to put more pressure in the rivalry game, but there is ... that's all you hear from the fans."

Arizona fans left Arizona Stadium happy and many rushed the field after the win, congratulating their team not only for a good game but also a remarkable season.

"It's incredible from what we've come from," Baucus said. "We were all just going nuts. It's a dream come true. You know when I committed here five years ago, I thought we could build something at this level and we have. And now we've got a great shot to win at the next level."

Another week brings on another mystery to be solved.

Morris area shoppers visit Denville on Small Business Saturday

DENVILLE It was a busy Saturday in Denville as shoppers prepared for the holiday season by avoiding the malls to support their local businesses on Small Business Saturday.

American Express launched the first Small Business Saturday on November 27, 2010, to encourage shoppers across the country to support local businesses. The event has turned into a holiday shopping tradition on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving.

American Express cardholders who used their cards on this day were able to sign up for special promotions and discounts. Many of the stores had individual sales just for Small Business Saturday and advertised them on sandwich boards.

"We're very excited about today. It's usually a great day for us," said Barbara Jean Santoro, owner of her namesake shop, Barbara Jean Boutique.

"American Express helps us promote this. We get the welcome mats, and if you sign up online you get to use the promotions. It's very nice and we see a lot of support from the community. So we're excited."

Denville's holiday shopping season, Happy Holiday Circus, started on Black Friday with a holiday shopping open house from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Broadway was closed to cars, and the area was filled with activities including live entertainment, a petting zoo, bouncy house, horse and buggy rides and the tree lighting. Many of the stores hosted photos with Santa and activities for children.

On Sunday, the Denville Holiday Parade starts at 2 p.m. and will include floats, bands and town dignitaries for a traditional celebration on Broadway.

Every weekend leading up to Christmas, Denville will host special holiday weekends. Visitors are invited to shop, dine, stroll and experience the atmosphere. Carolers and other festivities will be offered across the town.

"I come shopping here all the time but I saw the ads for Small Business Saturday and wanted to come," said Sue Duncalf of Lake Hopatcong. "I love this town. You don't see this type of shopping area anymore. It's all strip malls. I like to keep that old feeling."

"I come here because they have the little shops. I grew up in Ridgefield Park, and they didn't have anything like this. I love 'Faith and Begorra.' They have beautiful things, some religious. It's wonderful."

Crowds filed into Faith and Begorra: Irish Gifts, Imports & Catholic Gifts, where they patiently waited on line to purchase wool socks, jewelry, sweaters, cookies and candy, all native to the Emerald Isle.

"There were people in line out front when I got here this morning. It was a wonderful surprise," said Allison Banks, the daughter of Faith and Begorra's owner, Susan Banks.

"We're giving 20 percent off everything made of wool or flax today," said Banks, helping a customer choose a flax jacket.

"It's a great event and it's nationwide, which I like. This is always a good day for us."

"How about if I take a cookie?" Eileen Traino said to her husband, Vic, looking at the plate of chocolate cookies from Ireland. The table contained tea pots from Ireland as well as Irish fruitcake.

"When I want something Irish, I always come here. It's a good day for shopping especially because it's Small Business day," said the resident of White Meadow Lake. "We wanted to come and support them. We do anyway, so why not today? This is a great place to shop. Very friendly."

Closing the door at Faith and Begorra, Edwina Marchev stopped to look at the pine boughs decorating the doorway before heading to her next stop.

"I come here (Denville) all the time. I choose small business first. I only go to the mall if I have absolutely no choice," the Mountain Lakes resident said.

"This is a blessing to come here and be able to look at all these beautiful things and have the personal service that they give. I walk in and they know my name like on 'Cheers.' It's always 'Hi Edwina.' It's just wonderful."

Shoppers walked up and down the street, many with coffee cups in hand from Mara's Cafe & Bakery on Main Street or SmartWorld Coffee on the corner of Broadway. Despite the cold weather, they made their way in and out of stores along Broadway and Main Street.

Chrissy Murden of Denville and Annie Petersen of Boonton cheerfully greeted customers as they walked in the door at Surprises in Store.

"It's great to see everybody out and a lot of them weren't from here. A lot are coming from other places, and I think they're coming for Small Business Saturday," Petersen, of Boonton, said. "This is a great place to work. We're here to help."

"This is always a fun day," said Murden, a Denville resident.

With large snowflakes and candy canes adorning the sidewalks, Christmas music playing in the background and snow piled up from Wednesday's first storm, shoppers enjoyed their first real taste of the holidays.

Kristin and Steven Sherwood window-shopped as they strolled along Broadway with their toddler daughter, Sarah.

"We like to support the local town. We've been here for three years and it's a community feel here," Steven Sherwood said.

"I try to come and shop here first when I'm buying gifts. So far, we've been to three stores," said Kristin Sherwood.

"Four, but I got my electronics, so I'm happy," Steven Sherwood said, picking up Sarah and heading to Beignets in search of warmth and donuts.
